Infants experience rapid growth during the first critical year of life. They need warm, patient, flexible and nurturing educators by their sides as they investigate their ever-changing world. Infants should be encouraged to explore in a safe, homelike environment while receiving intentional, individualized care that inspires them to wonder, explore, discover and grow! Educators thoughtfully create individual child profiles for every infant which includes a wealth of information, and incorporates the needs of the family as well as the child's unique schedule and needs. Child-led curriculum is intentionally planned incorporating the Vermont Early Learning Standards, and includes opportunities for learning in language, early literacy, math, science, art, music, sense of self, social relationships and much more. Your infant will explore and discover through play in a supportive environment where teachers inspire and encourage them to become their best selves. - moving our bodies to music or songs with simple hand gestures
- stories, rhymes and songs
- exploring art such as finger painting
- water sensory play with scoops and funnels
- manipulate objects, toys and puzzles with large knobs
- learn to identify singular objects such as "cup" or "rattle"
- participate in give and take communication with peers and teachers
- cause and effect activities such as filling a basket with blocks, dumping it out, and filling it again
- problem solving activities such as fitting shapes into a shape sorter
- develop social emotional skills by building trusting, responsive relationships
- investigate musical instruments
- explore the outdoor world on the playground or on short neighborhood walks
- practice simple physical skills such as stacking blocks, rolling a ball or pushing a toy
