OUR VISION
Our vision is to provide a high-quality, child-centered environment that honors children and families, is creative and kind, rich in self-discovery, value-oriented, allows us to nurture a connected family / child / teacher relationship, and enables us to foster the whole child's development by honoring their unique needs, temperaments and strengths.
HOW WILL WE ACHIEVE OUR VISION?
*Provide a safe, nurturing, and comfortable environment in which children are encouraged to construct strong, connected relationships with other children and their educators. We believe that the environment acts as the 3rd educator, thus educators create environments that meet children where they are and evolve as their needs change to continually offer enriching learning experiences for young children both as a group and as unique individuals.
*Recognize and embrace each child's special uniqueness and individuality. Diversity of culture and ethnicity is honored and celebrated. Foster the essential development of positive self-concepts in a developmentally appropriate environment. Guide children in the empowering process of learning positive social behaviors, empathy and problem-solving skills as they navigate the ever-changing world.
*Celebrate creativity and imagination. Inspire children to be inquisitive and discover the world around them through observation and exploration. Creative work focuses on the importance of process rather than product. Activities are created to help the ideas, interests, skills, opinions and curiosities of the children flourish.
*Focus on maintaining the balance between consistency and flexibility. Children require an atmosphere of trust and acceptance. They need to feel secure and loved as they engage in the daily process of attempts, failures, and achievements. They need to know what to expect. In addition, they must experience flexibility to their evolving interests, wants, and needs in an environment that is child-centered and educator-supported.
*Prioritize the importance of cultivating a connected relationship between family / child / educator. Educators and families working together toward the common goal of supporting children in the process of becoming their best selves. Learning is rooted in these respectful, collaborative and intentional relationships.
*Honor the families and children in our care. Respect their individual uniqueness, temperament, needs, and strengths. Be willing to “adjust” as educators and leaders to better meet the needs of the children in our care by demonstrating personal leadership skills, continued professional and personal growth and accountability as educators and role models.
