OUR BIRCH CLASSROOM
It can be difficult to balance family life with the varying scheduling needs of a school-aged child. At E.J.'s, we try to help families by offering a variety of school-age care options along with flexible scheduling opportunities to better accommodate your busy family schedules. School-age children at E.J.'s have a dedicated classroom designed to meet their particular needs and interests. We offer an abundance of materials and activities tailored to school-aged children that support their evolving adventures and investigations. BONUS: we are located directly across the street from Rossignol Park where the children can go sledding, play basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis and use the playground equipment!
BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL CARE: Maybe they need to work on homework, have some quiet time after a long school day or play outside enjoying the fresh air. Perhaps they are working on a group activity like a play, art mural or construction project. Whatever the activity, there will be plenty of friendship and laughter!
SCHOOL VACATION CARE: During those weeks when your child is not in school, (and you still need to work) we offer a variety of care options for your child. Maybe you need the full week, or just a few days - we can help. We keep your school-age child busy, having fun, learning and creating meaningful relationships and friendships. Field trip adventures add to the excitement!
SUMMER VACATION CARE: The summer is a busy time at E.J.'s! Our summer program is rich with learning, exploring, discovering and making new friends or perhaps getting re-acquainted with old friends. The children swim twice weekly, have an additional weekly field trip adventure, go for geo-caching walks, use the playground experiencing all kinds of sporting events, cook in our large kitchen and more. The curriculum is designed to incorporate opportunities for exploration in math, science, technology, literacy, the arts and more. Past adventures include making their own movies, writing and acting out original plays, cooking recipes and messy concoctions, STEM activities and experiments, soccer camp, theater camp, art camp and many more. One of the most important pieces of our summer fun is fundraising for a favorite local charity in our community. The children have had bake sales, jewelry sales, car washes and an art show. They get very excited about this each and every year. Past recipients of their hard work and generosity have been the Children's Miracle Network and local animal rescue organizations. Connection to community is important, and we work hard to help them understand the importance of giving and helping others in need.
